Elephant In The Room
TEDxPanteionUniversity
Curator, May 2017 - June 2018
In 2018, I had the pleasure of curating a TEDx event titled Elephant in the Room. The title was chosen to address the social challenges that often go unacknowledged on both personal and collective levels. The aim was to initiate a meaningful dialogue by shedding light on issues that have been intentionally neglected in Greek society. To achieve this, we invited 12 speakers from various fields and disciplines to share their insights on stage. Additionally, we welcomed three performance groups to extend the dialogue to artistic practice.
As a curator from May 2017 to June 2018, my main responsibility was to create a strategic plan and lead a team of 20 people along with 50 volunteers to ensure a successful event. I was responsible for managing and motivating the work of five teams, including Speakers, Marketing, Graphic Design, Sponsorships & Finance, and Experience. I also secured monetary deals with sponsors and oversaw the organization’s new brand identity.
Elephant In The Room was held on May 19, 2018, at the Benaki Museum in Athens and was attended by an audience of 600 people. Following the event, an after-party took place to provide networking opportunities.
